Denny School Leader Update

Dear Denny families and staff,

Principal Jeff Clark of Denny International Middle School will be taking a one-year leave of absence for the 2022-23 school year.

We are pleased to introduce Mr. Jeff Lam as the acting principal for 2022-23.

Most recently, Jeff Lam served as the acting principal at Franklin High school for a part of the 2021-22 school year and has six years of strong experience as an assistant principal at the high school and middle school levels.

At Franklin, Principal Lam provided leadership for the school’s work around project-based learning, ethnic studies, and the development of racial equity goals. He worked with the Instructional Council to create a professional development plan centered on creating equity by design through Universal Design for Learning and equitable grading practices. Principal Lam is an equity driven leader who has a strong focus and advocacy for our students and families furthest away from educational justice.

His vision for equity, collaborative leadership, connection with students and staff, and demonstrated community outreach and engagement over the course of his leadership were key factors in the decision to confirm him as the acting principal at Denny International Middle School.

Prior to working as an administrator, Principal Lam was a special education and English language arts teacher at Health Sciences and Human Services High School (HS3) on the Evergreen campus in Highline School District.

He is a proud graduate of the Danforth Educational Leadership Program and holds a B.A. in comparative history of ideas and English literature (UW) and an M.Ed. in special education (UW). He lives in Seattle with his wife, Carrie, and three kids, Kyrie, Reese, and Malachi.

Principal Lam is thrilled to serve the Denny community to continue to build upon the existing great work of Denny students, staff, and families.
