    PTSA: Staff Appreciation Week is May 3 - 7! Whether it's a card made by your scholar, a small gift, or a Thank You email message, let's show our Denny educators how much we appreciate them!

    The PTSA is actively seeking next year’s leaders! We need folks who want to help build community, raise funds for the school, and advocate for our scholars. No experience necessary. Time is short in middle school - help make these some of the best years for our scholars. Email us at for more information. Thank you!

    Eighth-Grade Families:  It is time for rising Denny 8th grade scholars to enroll for 9th grade classes at Chief Sealth International High School for the 2021-22 school year! The Online Course Request window for Chief Sealth will be open from Monday, May 3rd at 5pm – Monday, May 10th at 10pm. Online registration information may be found on Chief Sealth’s main website or at the following website:  

                On Tuesday, May 4th, Chief Sealth Counselor, Mr. Dan Rosen, will be hosting a Microsoft Live online event when we are asking all 8th grade scholars who will be attending Chief Sealth next year to be in attendance. The time is during our PM Advisory session from 12:15-1:05pm. For scholars who will not be attending Chief Sealth, there is an alternative assignment attached from Naviance intended to help them discover learning strategies that will help them in the classroom based on their learning style.

    Chief Sealth Class of 2025 - Course Request Daytime Online Event 

    Tuesday, May 4th – 12:15-1:05pm

    On Wednesday, May 5th, from 6:00-7:00pm, Chief Sealth Counselors will be hosting a Microsoft Live online event when we are asking all 8th grade scholar’s families who will be attending Chief Sealth next year to be in attendance. Attached is a Course Request Online Registration Letter and a Riser Course Request Page that can be used to prepare for online course registration at Chief Sealth.  This event that will allow parents, families, and scholars to clarify any questions related to the enrollment process for next school year!

    OST: Free Online Enrichment and After-School Programs (OST): OST Registration is still open!  Register for our Spring OST Programs by clicking on this  2021 Spring Registration Link and if the page asks for a Microsoft login, please login using the scholar’s SPS account. See the attached Spring OST Schedule in English and Spanish. 

    Denny Scholars, you now have a new course on Schoology called Program Support A: Denny OST. This is a new way to receive announcements about OST activities. Parents can join OST’s Schoology page with the access code XBPJ-HNVH-R5VHF Click here to learn how to set up a Parent Schoology Account 

    OST Program Spotlight 

    "Ready, Set, Grow!” Thursdays 4:30pm-5:30pm 

    Would you like to learn how to grow your own food supply?  Would you like to understand how to properly grow breath-taking flowers?  We will be working with a variety of herbs and flowers while learning how to effectively compost.  Join us as we explore fundamentals of gardening while being outdoors!   

     “Body, Mind, and Fitness” Wednesdays 3:30pm-4:30pm 

    Scholars meet with a personal trainer for a fun and highly energetic fitness class.  This class welcomes all and at the end of each workout, scholars are encouraged to build health goals and positive mindsets. 

    Body, Mind, and Fitness Commercial: 

    "Get Real" Mondays 4:30pm-5:30pm 

    In Get REAL, youth learn about and discuss healthy friendships and relationships through fun activities, and lesson topic discussions. The program covers topics such as communication skills, peer pressure, friendships, boundaries, dating relationships and the warning signs of dating violence. This is also a great opportunity to connect with peers, high school mentors, and make new friends in a virtual setting. Participants will receive a free t-shirt along with fun items in a goodie bag at the end of the program.

    New Library Curbside Library Services will continue until the end of the school year on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00-3:00. Scholars can put books on hold using Destiny, the online library catalog. There is also an assortment of grab and go books that can be browsed, including many popular titles, graphic novels and Spanish language books. Hand sanitizer is available for browsers. Scholars from cohorts A and B will have additional opportunities to get books when they are at school.
