    Note From Mr. Clark

    Dear Denny Families,

Thank you so much to all of our families and scholars who joined us for our online Curriculum Night last week! If you were not able to join us, you can watch the videos below of both our opening session and messages from our teachers. The easiest way to watch the videos is to ask your scholar to open it for you.

    Thanks!

    Jeff Clark, Principal

    Announcements

First quarter grades can now be viewed on The Source.  Congratulations to all of our scholars who did very well 1st quarter! For those scholars who need more support, we will be making individual plans of support with the family of any scholar who received an incomplete grade.

We want to share information about the SOURCE, a great resource for families and scholars!

What is the Source? The Source displays attendance, assessment scores and grades.  SchoolPay, Schoology Access Codes and other family resources are also found on the Source.  Please visit www.seattleschools.org/SourceTour to learn more.

Who can get a Source account?

    • Parents and guardians of scholars actively enrolled in SPS may set up an account.
    • Scholars actively enrolled in SPS will receive a username and password at school.  Scholars will log onto the Source with their scholar account.  If your scholar did not receive their scholar account, please have them see their school librarian or teacher.

What do parents and guardians need to set up a Source account?

    • You must be the parent or guardian of a scholar actively enrolled in SPS.
    • Have the same valid email address on record at each scholar's school.  Your email address will be your Source username.
    • Visit the account set up page.

Clarification on Wednesdays: I would like to help clear up any confusion about what happens on Wednesdays.  Scholars, during your classes on Mondays and Tuesdays, your teachers will explain what everyone should do on Wednesday.  Some of you will be selected to join a small group run by the teacher.  If you are selected for the small group for that class, the link will be in the announcement section of the Schoology page for that class—your attendance in that group is required and attendance will be taken.  The rest of you should spend the 35 minutes of learning time for each subject independently by completing what is in the Schoology folder for you.  Furthermore, scholars not invited to the teacher’s small group need to complete the assigned lesson in Schoology for the day.  If the Schoology assignment is not completed, it will be recorded as an absence.  Please ask your teachers on Monday or Tuesday if you have any remaining questions about Wednesday.

Denny International PTSA is hosting an afternoon Family Coffee Chat on Monday, 11/16 from 4 - 4:30pm. Follow the link to join us!

Your PTSA is also hosting a Scavenger Hunt on Thursday, 11/19 from 7 - 8pm. Create a team name for your family and log in for a list of what we will look for in our immediate surroundings. It's rapid fire hunting for silly, simple, and surprising items. Our esteemed guest judge will have awards for everyone. Follow the link to join us!
