Athletics
Denny International Middle School is a wonderfully diverse school and offers several sports. In keeping with our motto, “We All Belong,” no student who wants to participate in a sport will be denied a chance to play. We do not cut students. All teams promote teamwork and togetherness in working towards a common goal. Time, effort, determination and good sportsmanship are a must for those wishing to participate in sports.
In order to participate in sports at Denny, a student-athlete must be passing their classes and maintaining a 2.0 GPA or above. Student-athletes will be required to do weekly grade checks and will not be allowed to play in that week’s game if their grades do not meet the requirements.
Student-athletes must have a physical examination and purchase insurance in order to be eligible to play. Denny does have a Wellness Center, where students may have their physical examination if they are registered. Physical examinations are good two years, meaning that a student can use the same physical form to play sports for two consecutive years. Student athletes also need to complete the OST program registration paperwork in order to plan for transportation.
Practice times depend on the coaches availability, generally not Wednesdays. If you have any further questions please see the coach specific to the sport you’re interested in or contact the athletic director.
